Challenge

Most productivity tools help organize to-do lists, but do not ensure follow through. When priorities aren't clear and tasks feel unengaging, procrastination wins. Intention alone isn't enough.

A seamless, intuitive interface that turns tasks into clear priorities, structured time, and sustained focus.

Concept cards tackling motivation tactics and the "thrill" factor.

Storyboard V.1

Feedback sessions proved that gamifying tasks and turning responsibilities into social competitions provided short-lived focus reliant on a temporary "high."

Storyboard V.2

Having an omniscient digital task manager better tackled the issue of accountability and long-term motivation.

3D Virtual Character V.1

Users felt interactions with this character were flat and unengaging.

3D Virtual Character V.2

I switched to 3D software to create a more life-like AR character, but users felt it was too menacing and unfriendly.

3D Virtual Character V.3

I balanced light with color to create a soft glow and refined the shape to feel more inviting.

PROCESS

Ideation

Competition and gamification are popular reasons why people enjoyed working. I began by drafting ideas that turned users' boring work into something fun and helped people pursue the "thrill" of accomplishment.
